Finance Committee Report

Ed Huetteman, HOA Treasurer
Delivered at the HOA Board Workshop March 7, 2023

The Finance Committee met on February 23, 2023.
The memorial garden has officially been named the “Herons Glen Memorial Garden”. The form for requesting a memorial brick has been approved. Bricks will cost $135.

Resurfacing Herons Glen Blvd by Collier Pavers will begin after Easter. It was discussed whether the pavers at the street entrance and by the guardhouse should be removed and replaced, as there would be a $30,000 cost savings by simply paving over these areas.

To date we have incurred $161,000 in Ian cleanup costs. It is estimated that it will cost another $40 to 60K for signage replacement and tree removal. We were reimbursed $6,800 for the loss of the cameras at the guardhouse.

The guardhouse project is currently in permitting. It will take about 10 weeks to complete. It was noted that the generator will be remotely monitored by the installation company.

The audit was approved by the HOA Board. It was noted that the long-range plan needs some adjustments for inflation to maintain adequate reserves.

The mill and overlay project was approved by the HOA Board.

The guardhouse generator project was approved by the HOA Board.

A long-range planning meeting will be held in March with the Long-Range Plan subcommittee.

The next regular HOA Finance Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, March 23 @ 1:30 in the HOA Conference Room.
President’s Report March 2023
Sunday-04-02-2023- @ 01:35
As a result of the damage caused by Ian, many of our home owners are in the process of replacing their pool cages, or making other repairs or replacements to their property. Some of the newer designs vary from those stated in our documents. The Architectural Review Committee is reviewing these new designs with the goal of adopting and including those that offer improvements to our residents.

The HOA and the HGRD will co-sponsor our Volunteer Appreciation Reception during National Volunteer Appreciation week in April.

Peak season will be ending soon, so it’s time to begin thinking about volunteering for a committee you’re interested in and believe you can contribute to. There are many to choose from and they are all looking for volunteers.

I also don’t want to miss the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Rick Romine, HOA President
