Meeting of October 24, 2024
The HOA Activities Committee met on Thursday, October 26th, at 10:00 AM. Meeting called to order by HOA Board Liaison Denise Fell at 10:00 AM. In attendance: HOA Board Liaison Denise Fell, Suzanne Offutt, Jeff Jensen, Joyce Foreman, Patricia McDarby, Barbara Klockson, Susan Gregor, and Susan Wasserott. Debbie McKinstry, Jann Norris and Jane Holdridge had excused absences.
Committee Business discussed:
- No Volunteers came forward for the Chairman position. Committee nomination and vote for Secretary. Susan Wasserott was nominated and approved. Committee nomination and vote for Treasurer. Trish McDarby was nominated and approved.
New Business
- Christmas decorating at the entrance to Herons Glen will be done November 25th at 10AM.
- Christmas Cart Parade – Sunday, December 8, 2024.
- Potential Activities Fair – Sunday, January 26, 2025.
- Shredding Event – Date to be reconsidered due to last year’s overcrowding and traffic issues during Firewise Ice Cream Social – Sunday, April 14, 2024.
- Ice Cream Social – Sunday, April 6, 2025
- Christmas decorating contest was discussed
- Tentatively considering a Home and Garden Show
- Other items suggested: a ‘fun’ trivia at the pool, a Gardening Class, which could teach northern residents how to care for Florida plants, a cooking/food prep class, which could help residents save money and stretch their food budget, and an outdoor movie night
Next meeting to be held on Thursday November 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the HOA Conference room.
