Monthly Report to the Board
The following topics were discussed at the January 24, 2024, SSEP meeting. The meeting was held in the HOA conference room.
The SSEP committee topics of discussions:
- Manager Joyce Gillespie- Reported the security contract will expire in May, the HOA board will be requesting bids. There was a confrontation between a driver and a walker and was reported to the HOA office and the LCSO.
- Liaison Russ Long – Reported that the Board approved the use of an LED speed limit sign that will be supplied by LCSO. ETA on sign will be forthcoming.
- Chair Woolley stated that Barry Glaudel has stepped down from the SSEP and the CERT subcommittee. Ron Decker will replace the open seat as a full-time member pending board approval.
- Special attendee Mary Wright, the HOA president introduced herself to the committee.
- Pending HOA Board approval and completion of required courses, Daniel Hamilton will assume the role of CERT Leader. Karen Wills will temporarily assume the acting second-in-charge role.
- A resident questioned when will the fire Hydrants in the Glen be tested. Response – this is the fire department’s responsibility.
- There was a refresher course for CERT held on January 22, 2025, at Lake Fairways. Seven members from the Herons Glen CERT team attended the course.
- Firewise USA action plan for Herons Glen was submitted to the NFPA and was approved.
- CERT will be scheduling another READY class with LCSO -TBA
The next SSEP Next meeting will be held on February 28, 2025
